Earlier this year, as part of the Irish Architecture Foundation's National Architects in Schools Initiative, C.J. Falconer & Associates worked closely with pupils from De La Salle College Waterford, towards providing students with first-hand experience of the architectural design process, under the guidance of design professionals.
In the lesson pictured below, topics such scale, proportion, and the technology & ergonomics of enclosure-design were introduced to the students; followed by an exercise in understanding 2D & 3D,
and how a drawing on a page can be turned into a box. Students were encouraged to explore further, developing allowances for openings doors/windows/ screens, and more.
Well done to all involved - and for more on the initiative, visit: http://architecturefoundation....
